If you’re a regular PBS viewer—especially of the cooking-and-fix-it “Create” channel—then you’ve seen America’s Test Kitchen and the show’s host, Christopher Kimball (pictured). The show is presented by Cook’s Illustrated magazine, of which Kimball is also the editor. If you haven’t, the guiding purpose of jovial but serious Kimball and his crack team of chefs and researchers is to find modern ways to make classic dishes without skimping on quality. In fact, they usually improve on the tried and true.
Like so many TV shows before it, there’s now a touring edition of the show, and America’s Test Kitchen Live is coming to the Palace this Sunday. There will be cooking demos, taste tests (a staple of the show) and more.
America’s Test Kitchen Live will be presented Sunday (April 13) at 3 PM at the Palace Theatre (19 Clinton Ave., Albany). Tickets are $35 and $45; a few VIP tickets—which include a meet-and-greet—are available for $85. For more info, call 465-3334.
