Ooo baby baby . . . baby baby. It’s been nearly 30 years since groundbreaking all-female hip-hop trio Salt-n-Pepa debuted with “Push It,” now a staple of any ’80s dance party worth its nostalgia. A classic trifecta of two condiment-named MCs and DJ Spinderella, the group peaked in the early ’90s with a string of hits: “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “Shoop” and “Whatta Man” with En Vogue.
It’s looks like Spin is out of the equation these days, but that shouldn’t detract from the one-two punch the namesake members will deliver tonight at Vapor, who have more or less been building their brand on these cool old-school hip-hop and R&B shows. DVDJ Dread will open.
Salt-n-Pepa will play Vapor Nightclub (Saratoga Casino and Raceway, Saratoga) on Thursday (June 5) at 9 PM. Tickets are $30. Call 581-5772 for more info.
