Someone must have made a mistake. Alive at Five, Albany’s free summer waterfront concert series, starts tonight and there’s no sign of Eddie Money. In fact, with the exception of Grand Funk Railroad and Sheila E., this summer’s schedule features artists one might even call contemporary.
Tonight, neo-soul act Fitz and the Tantrums headline the two-band bill (another change from prior years) along with indie rockers the Features. Each have earned large local audiences thanks to a few big clubs shows in recent years, so it’s cool to see bands like this getting the bump to an event like this. Good work, Albany. And sorry, Eddie.
Fitz and the Tantrums and the Features will play Alive at Five (rain site: the Boat Launch by the Corning Preserve, Albany) today (June 12) at 5 PM. Admission is free. Call 434-2032 for more info.
