It sounds too good to be true, but it really happened: There was a 1956 studio jam session at Sun Records with Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. And you can get as close as possible to “being there” at this event via the Broadway musical smash Million Dollar Quartet, coming to the Palace Theatre for one night only (Saturday).
The songs? The songs are the very foundation of rock & roll: “Great Balls of Fire, “Hound Dog,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “That’s All Right,” “Matchbox,” “I Walk the Line,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” and many more.
Million Dollar Quartet will be presented Saturday (June 14) at 8 PM at the Palace Theatre (19 Clinton Ave., Albany). Tickets are $35 to $68. For more info, call 465-3334.
