We’ll just give it to you the way EMPAC gave it to us. The big Oct 04 event is “10 hours, 10 artists, 4 works, 1 day.”

Temporary Distortion’s My Voice Has an Echo In It is a “six-hour performance that combines live music, text and video in a fully enclosed 24’ X 6’ capsule made of two-way mirrors.” It’s an EMPAC-commissioned work, which will be presented in the theater and begins at 4 PM. Anthony Marcellini’s Obsolescere: The Thing Is Falling is a performance that “captures objects at the moment their usefulness becomes uncertain.” It’s in Studio 1, and performances are at 4:30 and 7:15 PM. Aaron Landsman + Brent Green’s Empathy School is “an immersive performance set on a bus driving through post-industrial landscape surrounding Troy.” The bus leaves at 6:30 and 8 PM; seats are limited. Finally, Mick Barr (pictured) will present an evening of his experimental solo electric guitar works in Studio 2 at 9 PM.

Oct 04 will be presented Saturday (Oct. 4) at EMPAC (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy). For ticket info and to purchase tickets, visit empac.rpi.edu or call 276-3921.
