Bridesmaid

Critics have long tagged director Claude Chabrol as the “French Hitchcock.” It’s not, as others have pointed out, precisely correct, but it’s close enough for marketing. Chabrol makes tense, twisted psychological thrillers (and has for the last 40 years) that leave audiences pleased, and yet, somewhat horrified. In a good way.

Bridesmaid is the story of a mama’s boy pushed by a mysterious, sexy woman into murder. That’s really all you need to know.
