Café Madison, 1108 Madison Ave., Albany, 935-1094. Newly remodeled, with chef Jennifer Hewes helming dinner service, your favorite breakfast spot now offers excellent evening fine dining. Village Pizzeria & Ristorante, 2727 Route 29, East Galway, 882-9431. Family-run, family-friendly Italian dining with an expansive, not-too-expensive menu that runs a gamut from pizza to cioppino. Serving Mon 4-10, Wed-Sun 11:30-10. D, MC, V.

Chianti il Ristoranti, 208 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, 580-0025. An inventive menu of northern Italian fare from chef Fabrizio Bazzani, presented in David Zecchini’s handsome dining rooms. Serving dinner daily from 5:30. AE, D, MC, V.

The Rose and Kettle, 4 Lancaster St., Cherry Valley, (607) 264-3078. Outstanding food and service in a hundred-year-old house in the midst of a storybook village, featuring a changing menu of locally obtained meats and produce.
