The Wine Bar and Bistro, 200 Lark St., Albany, 463-2881. A creative and varied tapas menu takes you from a simple mix of olives to a more detailed, French-inspired dinner, with plenty of wine choices from which to match. Serving from 5 PM daily. AE, D, MC, V.

Destino, 112 Hudson Ave., Chatham, 392-6663. Excellent, reasonably priced Mexican fare with an Oaxacan heart (try the pollo con Oaxacan mole) and a comfortable place to enjoy a margarita. Serving dinner Tue-Thu, Sun 5-9; Fri-Sat 5-10. Brunch Sat 11:30-3, Sun 9-3. MC, V.

Nicole’s Ristorante, 556 Delaware Ave., Albany, 436-4952. A well-earned 22 years of offering a good mix of Northern and Southern Italian fare, in a comfortable restaurant (with an outdoor deck) with excellent service. Serving lunch Tue-Fri 11:30-2:30, dinner Tue-Sun 5-10. AE, CB, D, DC, MC, V.

Certified master chef Dale Miller is at the helm of this extraordinary restaurant, offering the finest of fine dining in an atmosphere of undimmed elegance.
