Walkin’ the Talk

Andrew Lynn founded Troy Bike Rescue, which takes discarded bicycles and retrofits them for people who can’t afford new ones; Dave Smalley and Sarah Johnston touted the benefits of their off-the-grid home, which stayed on full power throughout the Blackout of 2003; Yacob Williams and other Neighborhood Green and Clean volunteers cleaned up the vacant lot on the corner of North Swan and Third streets in Albany; Jose Serrano, Tyrell Pryor and Maurice Branch made plans to renovate a park in Troy that they cleaned up and got the city to pay attention to again; Steve Leibo and Ed Tick continued their work organizing trips to Vietnam for veterans and others who want to know the country as it is today, not just as it was during wartime.
