We
always look forward to your selection of “Local Heroes” [Dec.
16], and were particularly pleased that the Albany Underground
Artists were featured this year. In the profile of Chip Fasciana
and Tommy Watkins, it mentions “16 Windows of Art” as sponsored
by the City of Albany. In fact, it is sponsored by the Downtown
Albany Business Improvement District (BID), a not-for-profit
organization established in 1996 and independent of the city.
The Downtown Albany BID has about 900 stakeholders—businesses,
property owners, cultural institutions, social service providers,
government agencies and elected officials—that partner in
a united effort to revitalize the capital city’s downtown.
The “16 Windows of Art” exhibit, which runs through Feb. 11,
is one of the BID’s many promotions planned in the coming
months for downtown Albany.

Things I Like About You
To
the Editor:
Thanks
for doing such a great story on WEQX [“Radio Manchester,”
Dec. 16]. I can honestly say that it’s the only station that
can be played in the presence of both my sons and myself without
disagreements! The DJs are great—very down to earth, and they
have a great sense of the sound that’s not played on the mainstream
radio. In a world of corporate radio, it’s so great that there
are still some “little guys” left making such an incredible
contribution to the airwaves. Keep up the good work, EQX.

many of you have pointed out to us in phone and e-mail messages,
in last week’s crossword puzzle, the clues did not match the
grid [Dec. 16]. The clues were correct, but we inadvertently
printed the grid from a previous week. We apologize for the
error.
And we will try to make it up to you by printing a correct
version of last week’s puzzle on page 55 of this week’s issue.
On page 51, you can also find this week’s puzzle, along with
the solution to the one that appears on page 55.
