Backstreet Billiards
63A Putnam St., Saratoga Springs, 583-2503. Nine tables. Wednesday night Ladies Night, half price for women, 5-9 PM.

Diamond Eight Billiards
2027 Western Ave., Guilderland, 464-7665; 9 Johnson Road, Latham, 786-8048. Each has 17 tables. You’ll find video games and Foosball tables at both halls, also Nathan’s hotdogs and other munchies available. Latham facility boasts full-service bar.

The Golden Cue
1048 Central Ave., Albany, 459-9442. A Capital Region institution. The granddaddy of area pool halls—family-owned and operated for more than 35 years now. The Cue has 25 tables, with tournaments on Wednesday nights. Games cost $3.60 per person per hour all the time.

Bowling

Alpha Lanes
326 Fifth Ave., Troy, 235-4941. Eighteen lanes. Rock & Bowl on Friday and Saturday nights. New Cubica computerized scoring system.

Boulevard Bowl
1315 Erie Blvd., Schenectady, 374-4171. Forty lanes. Birthday parties. Also a restaurant with full deli and bar. Take-out and catering available.

Bowlers Club
1210 Troy-Schenectady Road (Route 7), Latham, 785-1598. Fifty lanes. Rock & Bowl on Friday and Saturday nights, $13 for ulimited bowling including shoe rental, 11 PM-2 AM. And there’s great pizza made right at the lanes.

Del Lanes
Bethlehem Court (off Delaware Avenue), Delmar, 439-2224. Twenty-four lanes. Rock and Bowl, Saturday nights, 11:30 PM-2 AM.

Hi-Roc Sports Center
32 Ballston Spa Ave., Saratoga Springs, 584-6460. Forty lanes. Galactic Bowling Friday and Saturday nights, 10 PM-12:30 AM. Birthday parties, too.

Hometown Lanes
994 Hudson River Road, Mechanicville, 664-0952. Eighteen lanes. Open bowling Friday and Saturday nights.

Latham Bowl
375 Troy-Schenectady Road (Route 7), Latham, 785-6694. Thirty-two lanes. Moonlight Bowling on Fridays and Saturdays with cash prizes. Newly renovated.

Playdium Bowling Center
Ontario Street and Park Avenue, Albany, 438-0300. Twenty-eight lanes. Old-time atmosphere with state-of-the-art equipment, great pizza and great bowling specials.

Redwood Lanes
1541 Central Ave. Albany, 869-3581. Twenty-four lanes. Rock & Bowl on Friday and Saturday nights, unlimited bowling including shoe rental: $10 on Fri, 10 PM-2 AM; $12 on Sat, 10 PM-2 AM with DJ. And pizza is a house specialty.

Sunset Lanes
1160 Central Ave., Colonie, 438-6404. Thirty-two lanes. “Cyberbowl” lights-out bowling and music Sundays 1:30-5 PM.

Uncle Sam Lanes
600 Fulton St., Troy, 271-7800. Twenty-six lanes. Moonlight Bowling Friday and Saturday nights.
