Chameleon on the Lake

251 Country Route 67, Saratoga Springs, 581-3928. Richard Rodriguez, former co-owner of the Springwater Bistro, returns June 1 with a tri-level eatery on the shores of Saratoga Lake, including a lounge, a seafood restaurant with a Mediterraneam flair, and a decktop shrimp and oyster bar. The chef is Dominic Colose, formerly of Cafe Capriccio. Full bar, extensive wine list, 30-seat outdoor deck looking onto the waterfront. Catering and takeout available. Welcoming boaters and others dressed for the outdoors. Serving 4-10 daily. MC, V. $$

Hidden Café

Spigalina

80 Main St., Lenox, Mass., (413) 637-4455. Intimate dining in a cozy, 200-year-old house with a wraparound porch in the village of Lenox. Creative and colorful Mediterranean-inspired cooking featuring fresh seasonal ingredients; every entrée has its own unique starch and sauce. Signature appetizer is warm goat cheese surrounded by shredded phyllo dough, fried, atop a salad of dried cranberries, walnuts, almonds and mesclun.
