Avenue A

544 Delaware Ave., Albany, 434-2832. This neighborhood favorite, formerly off of New Scotland Avenue, will reopen in its new location in mid-May. A multicultural restaurant with a Korean-inspired menu, including Chap chae and bulgokee. Panini and salads are some of the lighter fare also offered. Full bar. Beardslee Castle

Route 5, Little Falls, (315) 823-3000, In this historic castle in Central New York (complete with ghosts, or at least abundant rumors thereof), dine in one of five intimate rooms on creative cuisine that changes nightly, features fresh ingredients and spans Mediterranean, Italian, Asian and Southwestern influences and beyond. Excellent and eclectic wine and beer selection, and thoughtful children’s menu. Large functions up to 150. Reservations appreciated. Serving dinner Thu-Sat 5-9, Sun 4-8. AE, D, MC, V. $$$


26 Henry St., Saratoga Springs, 587-9463, Global-comfort-foods menu includes fish, game, beef, poultry, pasta and chops. A “chef’s table” in the pantry offers small parties a unique perspective from which to dine. Full bar. Serving 5:30-close Tue-Sat, but daily during racing season. AE, D, DC, MC, V. $$$$

Envy Lounge

99 Pine St., Albany. 694-3689, Modern American dining with international influences. Many small plates with big flavors, from tapas to exotic entrees. Helsinki Café

Vin Santo

The Italian name heralds a Spanish theme with French- and Asian-inspired meals, served as small-plate portions so that you can assemble the variety and quantity as you wish. Chef Chris Sisinni turns out remarkable fare. Full bar, excellent wine list. Reservations suggested on weekends. Serving lunch 11:30-3:30 Mon-Sat, dinner 5-11 Mon-Wed, 5-Midnight Thu, 5-1 Fri-Sat. Hampton Inn and Suites, 25 Chapel St., Albany, 436-7747. Yono Purnomo and family are back, now in an elegant dining room and bar built as part of one of Albany’s newest hotels.
