An offshoot of the successful Wolf Road restaurant (with added martini bar and sushi bar) this eatery occupies the handsome old Nicholas building in Schenectady’s downtown. Bangkok Thai Restaurant

8 Wolf Road, Colonie, 435-1027. An authentic Thai restaurant. The menu features such dishes as basil chicken with fresh green-curry sauce, pad Thai noodles, tsom yom goong soup, chicken satay, panang curry with chicken, shrimp and vegetable spring rolls. Now serving fish coconut curry. Full bar, takeout, banquet facilities available. Serving 11:30-10:30 daily. Reservations accepted. AE, DC, MC, V. $$

Mino: Sushi & Thai Restaurant

1558 Central Ave., Colonie, 452-6878. Located in a strip mall near the Northway, this is an economical stop for Thai food, ranging from the standards like pad Thai to a killer duck curry that marries the best of many flavors. The sushi here is outstanding, too, crafted by chef-owner Mino Kawaguchi. Serving lunch 11:30-2:30 daily, dinner 5-10 Sun-Thu, 5-10:30 Fri-Sat. AE, MC, V. $$

Sukhothai

254 Lark St., Albany, 463-0223. Serving authentic Thai cuisine in a modest storefront in the heart of Center Square. Start with the Thai egg rolls or coconut chicken soup; entrée favorites include ginger chicken and spicy eggplant with basil. Plenty of vegetarian options. No alcohol. Eat in or take out. Serving 11:30-9 Mon-Wed, 11:30-10 Thu-Fri, noon-10 Sat. Closed Sun. AE, D, MC, V. $

Sushi Thai Garden

44-46 Phila St., Saratoga Springs, 580-0900. Serving exotic Thai food, made with fresh ingredients. Sample the Japanese entrées, or dine at the sushi bar. There are also many vegetarian options. Takeout available. Serving 11:30-10 Sun-Thu; 11:30-10:30 PM Fri-Sat. AE, D, MC, V. $$
