by The Staff on October 4, 2012

If you’re a music lover and you listen to WMHT-FM at all, then you have undoubtedly enjoyed From the Top. The popular NPR showcase for young classical-music talent has aired on WMHT on Saturday afternoons for years. Hosted by the versatile pianist Christopher O’Riley (pictured), the show features “amazing performances and captivating personal stories” of youthful virtuosi. And it’s coming to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall tomorrow (Friday) evening.

O’Riley’s special guest will be cellist Matt Haimovitz. The innovative, pioneering Haimovitz—who champions new music and isn’t afraid to wander outside the standard repertoire—is familiar to local audiences, and has been acclaimed for his performances.

Christopher O’Riley will bring From the Top to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 5) at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25-$55. For reservations and info, call the box office at 273-0038.
