How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular

by The Staff on October 4, 2012

Audiences and critics alike fell in love with DreamWorks Animation’s film How to Train Your Dragon, which presented a wondrous adventure of a Viking boy who befriends and trains a dragon. Now, DreamWorks has teamed up with Global Creatures, the production company behind the hit touring show Walking With Dinosaurs, to present a live-action version of the story.

That’s right: The How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular will present “23 dragons, some with wingspans of up to 46 feet, Viking warriors and world-class circus artists and acrobats,” to present a “state of the art, wall-to-floor immersive” experience.

Judging from the promo photos and available clips, this should be something to see.

The How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular opens today (Thursday, Oct. 4) and runs through Sunday (Oct. 7) at the Times Union Center (51 S. Pearl St., Albany). Performances are Thursday-Friday at 7 PM; Saturday at 11 AM, 3 and 7 PM; and Sunday at 1 and 5 PM. Tickets are $19.50 to $69.50, depending on the day and time of the performance.
