Mike Stud

by Metroland Staff on October 4, 2012

UPSTATE CONCERT HALL, SUNDAY

Some would call this Duke University alum a jack-of-all-trades. Since going viral—his most popular song “College Humor” has nearly a million YouTube hits— and during the span of his 14 months on the hip-hop radar, Mike Seander, who fittingly goes by “Stud,” has come out of the batting cage—literally—and into his newfound fame. The former All-American varsity baseball player’s 2011 rookie mix tape Toast to Tommy debuted at No. 3 and No. 2 on the worldwide and U.S. iTunes hip-hop album charts. The athlete, who started creating his catchy rhythms and witty lyrical punch lines on a whim when he was out with an injury, has clearly won over the masses. (Oct. 7, 7 PM, $14, Rt. 146 W.
