It was after American rapper Michael Wayne Atha appeared on the reality series The Road to Stardom with Missy Elliot in 2005 that he released his debut independent album, Creek Water, inventing himself as Yelawolf. Atha, who is currently signed to Shady Records, Ghet-O-Vision and Interscope, debuted his first major-label studio album, Radioactive, in 2011, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 27 and named him as one of Esquire Magazine’s Best New Rappers. Since receiving more than a handful of accolades from his work on Radioactive, Atha has joined collaborative forces with talents such as Ed Sheeran, Travis Barker, Big K.R.I.T. and Kid Rock.
