This is one of the best running double bills around, made all the more rare these days since Railbird became fancy out-of-towners. They’ll share the Putnam Den stage tonight (Thursday) with cohorts Cuddle Magic (9 PM, $8, 584-8066). . . . It’ll be a sepia-toned evening of Americana tonight at Red Square with Driftwood, Dan Johnson and Red Haired Strangers (8 PM, 465-0444). . . . Charmboy and Charlie Watts Riots are only two of the headlining local bands that will pack into Valentine’s upstairs tomorrow (Friday) night for a Northeast Regional Food Bank Benefit (7 PM, $10, 432-6572). . . . Friday night at the Linda, Christine Lavin and Don White will blend music and comedy (8 PM, $18, 465-5233). . . . Friday through Sunday at the Albany Hindu Temple Society, godfather of American kirtan Bhagavan Das will be performing and holding workshops (459-7272). . . . RPI percussion group Ensemble Congeros will perform their show “Chasing Rhythms” in the EMPAC concert hall on Saturday (8 PM, free, 276-3921). . . . Metal monsters Maggot Brain and Hush will celebrate the release of both their new records on Saturday at Valentine’s (8 PM, 432-6572). . . .
