The Magic of Christmas

by The Staff on December 6, 2012

Ho ho ho!

It doesn’t really feel like the holidays are here until the Albany Symphony Orchestra present their annual Magic of Christmas concerts at the Palace; the holidays must be here, then, because the ASO’s concert tradition continues this weekend.

Maestro David Alan Miller will lead the ASO in a variety of Christmas classics, from familiar carols and hymns to excerpts from The Nutcracker to a musical telling of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” As is custom, the orchestra will be joined by a wide variety of local talent, including the Capital District Youth Chorale, musicians from the Music Studio, the Quintessence Bell Choir and dancers from the World of Dance and the Boland School of Irish Dance. And Santa Claus, of course, will drop in.

The Albany Symphony Orchestra will present the Magic of Christmas on Saturday (Dec. 8) at 7:30 PM and Sunday (Dec. 9) at 3 PM at the Palace Theatre (19 Clinton Ave., Albany). Tickets are $12.50 to $40. For more info, call the ASO at 465-4755.
