It’s a superstar Saturday at the Palace. Internationally acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma will be joining the Albany Symphony Orchestra and maestro David Alan Miller for a very special evening. Ma will be featured on one of the signature 20th-century works written for his instrument, the Cello Concerto of Antonin Dvorák.
Did you know Yo-Yo Ma has won 16 Grammys? We didn’t. We bet he’s won a lot of other other awards we weren’t aware of, either. That’s what virtuosi do—they win awards. And draw crowds—so don’t dawdle about buying your tickets.
The program will also include John Williams’ Elegy for Cello and Orchestra, Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn, and Clint Needham’s Everyday Life.
Albany Symphony Orchestra with special guest Yo-Yo Ma will perform Saturday (Jan. 12) at 7 PM at the Palace Theatre (19 Clinton Ave., Albany). Tickets are $45-$95. For tickets, call 694-3300.
