Matt Pond

by Metroland Staff on January 31, 2013

CLUB HELSINKI, MONDAY

Brooklyn singer-songwriter Matt Pond has seceded, as it were, from Pennsylvania, dropping the “PA” from the end of a band moniker he’s held for the past decade: Matt Pond PA. With The Lives Inside the Lines in Your Hands, Pond has officially gone solo—even if the bulk of his PA records were more or less Pond’s to begin with. You know Pond’s music, even if you think you don’t. He’s placed tunes on The O.C. and Chuck, while Starbucks picked up the song “Snow Day” to sell holiday drinks back in 2010. He’ll bring his unabashedly positive indie pop to Hudson on Monday. (Feb. 4, 8 PM, $15, 405 Columbia St., Hudson, 828-4800)
