Ghosts of Jupiter

by Metroland Staff on February 14, 2013

PUTNAM DEN, SATURDAY

If the name Ghosts of Jupiter doesn’t ring a bell, then maybe their old band name the Nate Wilson Group will. If that’s more familiar, then you’re probably a fan of ’90s NH jam band, Percy Hill, largely built around keyboardist Nate Wilson. With this new group, Wilson has left the smooth Steely Dan-leaning sound behind, favoring the gritty contemporary blues rock of the Black Keys and the Raconteurs. They put out a self-titled record in 2011 and then last spring produced Ghosts of Jupiter: Music Experience, a 45-minute multimedia piece shown in the Boston Museum of Science’s planetarium. Whoa. (Feb. 16, 9 PM, $7, 63A Putnam St., Saratoga Springs, 584-8066)
