The Zombies

by Metroland Staff on June 19, 2013

Riding the wave of the original British Invasion, the Zombies topped the international charts with excellent pop-rock nuggets like “She’s Not There” and “Tell Her No.” A few years later they ventured into art rock with the LP Odyssey and Oracle, got little initial response, and broke up. In true “zombie” fashion, it was only after the band’s demise that the trippy “Time of the Season” became their biggest hit. Original members Colin Bluestone and Rod Argent (“Hold Your Head Up”) are back together and decidedly not dead, and will kick off the Empire State Plaza’s series of free Wednesday concerts this week.
