Many summer theater companies have already packed it in for the season; a few have productions that will linger into the fall. Beginning this weekend, the Mac-Haydn Theatre rounds out a diverse offering of musicals—a season that ran the gamut from Les Miserables to The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas—by turning on the jukebox.
All Shook Up has a traditional romantic-comedy plot, involving the 1950s romantic entanglements in a small American town, to lure your interest. The show’s driving force, however, is a collection of timeless rock & roll hits from the Elvis Presley songbook: “Hound Dog,” “The Devil in Disguise,” “Teddy Bear,” Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” “Love Me Tender” and many more.
All Shook Up opens tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 6) at 8 PM and runs through Sept. 15 at the Mac-Haydn Theatre (Route 203, Chatham). Tickets are $28-$30. Call 392-9292 for shows and times.
