It’s going to be a bloody, flesh-eating, throat-slashing good time this weekend at the Palace Theatre. This is thanks to the good folks at FantaCon, who are presenting three nights of cinematic terror—and good fun.
It all begins Thursday (Sept. 12) with the 7:30 PM screening of George A. Romero’s masterpiece Night of the Living Dead (pictured). After the film, there will be an onstage 45th anniversary reunion of six of the original cast members.
At 7 PM pn Friday (Sept. 13)—appropriately—attention will turn from zombies to slasher films with Paramount’s original smash hit Friday the 13th. See how the Jason Voorhees saga began, and enjoy the spectacle of teenagers getting killed in interesting ways. The band First Jason will perform after the picture.
Finally, on Saturday night (Sept. 14) at 7 PM, the fest closes with a zombie film triple feature. Why not?
FantaCon is coming to the Palace Theater (19 Clinton Ave., Albany) Thursday through Saturday (Sept. 12-14). Tickets to each night are $13, or you can buy a festival pass for $30. For more info, call 465-3334.
