The Egg, Tuesday

Supertramp were never quite as freaky as their prog-rock brethren of the ’70s. But if you do the numbers, they probably had more hits. Chalk that up to the Lennon-McCartney-style songwriting competition between bandleaders Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson. “Give a Little Bit,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “The Logical Song” and “Dreamer” were all the work of Hodgson, who has released three solo albums since his split from the band. Expect plenty of Wurlitzer piano and prog breakdowns when Hodgson brings a set of his original compositions to the Egg on Tuesday. (Oct. 22, 8 PM, $49.50-$79.50, Empire State Plaza, Albany, 473-1845)

So looking forward to seeing Roger Hodgson at The Egg next week. I can’t wait to see him again. I saw him last year while on vacation in California and I am still thinking about that show. Incredible does not even come close. Roger’s pristine voice sounds even better today than on my Supertramp vinyls and the warmth and smiles he shares with the audience leaves a person feeling as if they are watching a good friend performing up there on stage. If you were or are a fan of Supertramp, you’ve got to see Roger’s show. There is a reason fans around the world call him the Voice of Supertramp. See Roger in concert in concert and you will have an experience that will stay with you for weeks. Check out his other NY dates on Events at https://www.Facebook.com/RogerHodgson.

Roger Hodgson is one of the most underrated artists actively touring. He hit the road over 10 years ago to share his magic and collects more and more fans of all ages at every performance. Often he sells out venues and has performed to audiences numbering up to 20,000 with his band!! How has Roger done this…… the very way you have described, often by chance. However, the other side this occurrence leads to many have always known Roger’s face/music, following him literally all over the world.

While many have attended festivals where he is playing and experience his magic for the first time….becoming hopelessly hooked on the quality of his voice, musicality and close relationship he and his band have with the audiences. Yes I am a huge fan……..

Go……..travel to feel Roger’s gifts.
