It’s not a redundancy that the tour fliers for John Fogerty’s trip to the Times Union Center proclaim that he’ll be performing “the albums of Credence Clearwater Revival.” Despite his having been the frontman for the Hall of Fame rockers, Fogerty’s solo career has been underscored by his legendary beef and legal battles with the band he left in the early ’70s.
By now, the 68-year-old can count more albums as a solo artist than he recorded with Credence, but even his newest release, Wrote a Song for You, revisits the early catalog for which he’ll always be remembered. The album features new recordings of Credence tracks with guest performers like Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Tom Morello, Kid Rock, the Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket and Jennifer Hudson.
It all must have triggered some nostalgia in the man, as this show promises to be nothing but the kind of hits the Dude would abide.
John Fogerty will play the Times Union Center (51 S. Pearl St., Albany) on Sunday (Nov. 10) at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $29.50-$68. Call 487-2000 for more info.
