“Winsome and wise, knowing and innocent.” That’s one way singer-songwriter Nora Jane Struthers has been described. One-half of a father-daughter duo, Struthers got her start playing folk clubs in her native New York before striking out solo to Nashville. There, she scored a record deal and hit CMT video in due time.
With her band the Party Line, she strikes a balance between country music new and old, drawing on the styles of Dolly Parton and Gillian Welch alike. Michael Eck will open this installation of the American Roots series.
Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line will play the Linda (339 Central Ave., Albany) Thursday (April 10) at 8 PM. Tickets are $15. Call 465-5233 for more info.
