This multi-artist, multi-form evening of art and performance at EMPAC on Friday is “a choreographed chorus of individual woks that move, collide and overlap in time, responding to the space and mechanics of the theater’s architectural infrastructure by combining performers, artworks, sets, props and lighting effects that echo the corporeal, erotic, sensual, expressive, and strange.”
Los Angeles-based filmmaker-videographer-sculptor-multimedia artist Erika Vogt, whose work has been described as “very exciting and decidedly entrancing, almost intoxicating,” has organized the evening, an outgrowth of earlier presentations at REDCAT and the Hammer Museum. The other artists in the show will be Math Bass, Shannon Ebner, Lauren Davis Fisher, Mariah Garnett, MPA, Silke Otto-Knapp + Flora Wiegmann, Adam Putnam and Mark So.
The Artist Theater Program will be presented in EMPAC’s Theater on Friday (April 11) at 8 PM. Tickets are $18. For reservations and info, call the box office at 276-3921.
