Ben Taylor

by The Staff on April 17, 2014

Club Helsinki, Friday

The son of a musical power couple, Ben Taylor grew up living in the midst of five-time Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor and his mother Carly Simon, best known for her classic hit “You’re So Vain.” While music was in his blood, it wasn’t until 2003 that Taylor released his first official album, Famous Among the Barns. Taylor’s latest album, Listening, combines his folk roots with a mix of pop, soul, urban, reggae, and country. Layered vocals and beats display the last four years of what he calls a “musical evolution.” Simi Stone will open the show. (April 18, 9 PM, $20-$25, 405 Columbia St, Hudson, 828-4800)
